J. Cole Samples Lauryn Hill, D'Angelo on "Cole Summer"
We're were a little upset that J. Cole took Lauryn Hill and D'Angelo's super romantic The Miseducation of Lauryn Hill cut "Nothing Even Matters" and turned into into a confessional track about being a "cheap ass n-gga" on his new song, "Cole Summer." But the song's so chill that we can't be that mad—and the soft, old-school sample is actually a perfect compliment.
The "Power Trip" rapper is currently working on finishing his sophomore effort, Born Sinner. "Few days to finish the album then off to mixing," he wrote on his blog when he premiered the song yesterday. "Here’s some thoughts. Cole Summer."
