Katy Perry Is Halfway Through Her New Album
During the recent ASCAP I Create Music Expo in Hollywood, Katy Perry opened up about the new material she's working on, and good news, Katy Cats: She's halfway through the new album!
"When I put myself on a timeline, when I tell the record company when I want to release the album, that's when the race starts," Perry told the audience (according to Billboard). "That's when I put pressure on myself."
Katy revealed she's been working with Sia and previous collaborators Max Martin, Dr. Luke and Greg Wells. She also invited songwriter Bonnie McKee back in the studio, where the pair came up with the first known song title we have from the album, "Double Rainbow."
"[Bonnie] came in from a yoga class and said, 'I want to write a song called ''Double Rainbow.'' So we have a song called ‘Double Rainbow," Katy said. If the track is about anything other than the viral YouTube hit of the same name, I'm done with you, Katy Perry!
Katy's last album, Teenage Dream, broke approximately a bajillion records throughout its run, going Platinum around the world, scoring five No. 1 singles and six top 10 singles.
Can the power of the "Double Rainbow" bring Katy Perry the same success this time around?
