Lady Gaga Is 'Time' Magazine's Second Most Influential Icon of the Decade
Time magazine recently asked readers to vote for the public figure who's been the most influential over the past decade, March Madness bracket-style. And the winner was almost Lady Gaga.
Beating out Harry Potter author J.K. Rowling and President Barack Obama (!!!), the championship match came down to Gaga and legendary Burmese freedom fighter Aung San Suu Kyi. Yep, the "Born This Way" singer was in the same tournament as one of the most prominent political figures of all time. The power of the Internet, ladies and gentlemen.
In the end, Aung San Suu Kyi won out over Gaga despite her giant army of Little Monsters, which is nearing 37 million on Twitter. But second place really doesn't seem too bad when you're talking about the most influential person of the past decade.
You'll get 'em next decade, Gaga!
