Britt Daniel Says New Spoon & Divine Fits Material Coming Soon!
Britt Daniel just can’t stop, which is good news for us. The Austin-bred singer-songwriter recently told SPIN that there's a whole lot of new music coming soon.
First up are two recently recorded songs by Divine Fits: "Chained to Love" and "Ain't That the Way," which will drop as a 7” single.
And for those chomping at the bit for Spoon's follow-up to 2010’s Transference, the indie vets are currently working on a new album that Daniel says is "slightly more soul" and "slightly more R&B."
Daniel explained that his bandmates Eric Harvey and Jim Eno "got together in November and finally sent me some of those recordings."
"Right now it's a lot of instrumental music," he said. "There were a few tunes that I have written over the last couple of years that I brought in at these rehearsals. And they sounded pretty good, actually."
And if that’s still not enough Daniel for you, he will be picking up the bass for yet another new project, Split Single, fronted by Jason Narducy (formerly of power-pop group Verbow). Hear three new Split single tracks—"Fragmented World," "Waiting for the Sun" and "Last Goodbye"—below.
