We Love Charli XCX's Cover of Backstreet Boys "I Want It That Way"
Yesterday, you heard our favorite jangle-punk cover of Grimes' "Oblivion," and today, we bring you an equally exultant cover. During an in-store appearance at Chicago's Borderline Music, our favorite British pop singer Charli XCX told the crowd about a song she's "obsessed with" before whipping into a cover Backstreet Boys' "I Want It That Way."
Rather than a karaoke-style cover drenched in irony, Charli treats us to an earnest, synth-pop version of the ubiquitous boy band track. This is how all covers should be treated. Take a listen.
