NYC Disco-Funk Group Escort Return With Thunderous "Barbarians"
New York disco group Escort have been locally getting asses moving on dance floors since 2006, but it was their 2011 eponymous debut album that expanded the group's expansive sound (there's 17 of them, after all) past the five boroughs.
The group, known for their scathing live shows, have been relatively quiet since then, but have finally returned with "Barbarians." "Stand up/Stand up/Bang your drum," exclaims frontwoman Adeline Michele before the Nile Rodgers-influenced funk guitar kicks in. This is the track that splits the difference between Daft Punk's "Get Lucky" and late-1970s Chic. Get familiar.
