Selena Gomez Premieres Dance-y, Dubstep-y New Single "Slow Down"
Selenators, rejoice! Selena Gomez's upcoming July 23 solo album Stars Dance now has an official second single, cover and tracklisting!
She revealed the goods Monday night during a live chat on her YouTube channel. First up: The LP's new single, "Slow Down," which channels three major pop hits from the past two years. Translation: It'll be a mega hit, y'all.
"Slow Down" opens with a funky guitar line and a four-on-the-floor beat (think Maroon 5's "Moves Like Jagger") before moving into a dubstep-y chorus (think Taylor Swift's "I Knew You Were Trouble"). The post-chorus section then rises to an anthemic breakdown (think Britney Spears' "Till the World Ends").
Also, via a 22-second video teaser, Gomez unveiled the diamond-warrior-princess look she rocks on the cover of Stars Dance. The tracklist soon followed. Check 'em out below.
