Justin Timberlake & Carrie Brownstein Score 2013 Emmy Noms
The 2013 Emmy nominees have been unveiled and two of today's most successful musician-turned-comedians are on the list: Justin Timberlake and Carrie Brownstein.
Timberlake's nomination for Outstanding Guest Actor in a Comedy Series is no surprise: He's already won four Emmys in the past—two for hosting Saturday Night Live and two for co-writing songs used in his episodes—and his latest hosting gig was a total home run.
As for Brownstein, this is the second nomination for the Sleater-Kinney/Wild Flag musician. Just like last year, she's up for a writing Emmy thanks to her work on the brilliant Portlandia. And just like last year, she's competing against The Daily Show, The Colbert Report, Saturday Night Live and Real Time With Bill Maher. Hopefully the TV powers-that-be will smile upon Portlandia and put an Emmy on it this time.
