Big K.R.I.T. Explains New Work Strategy for Upcoming Material

Mississippi rapper/producer Big K.R.I.T. released his King Remembered in Time mixtape in April, handling almost all its production in addition to the raps. The 26-year-old told Fuse he's already chipping away at his next project, but this time he's inviting a host of other producers into the studio.

"It's about getting out my comfort zone," he explains backstage at Rock the Bells in Los Angeles. "I'm used to rapping over my beats and being in the studio by myself. It's testing my limits and testing the boundaries of what I can create."

He adds that working with hot hip hop producers like Terrace Martin (Snoop Dogg, Kendrick Lamar) and Christian Rich (Pusha T, J. Cole) give him a sense of relief. "The pressure of not having to make the beat is like a weight lifted off my shoulders," he says. "I have these dope producers giving their a-game!"
