Alanis Morissette's 'Jagged Little Pill' Is Heading to Broadway
Eight years after releasing an acoustic remake of her iconic 1995 album Jagged Little Pill, Alanis Morissette has found a new way to monetize her best-known album. Yes, like Green Day before her, Morissette is turning an album into a Broadway musical. And perhaps not coincidentally, the music arranger/supervisor behind the stage version of American Idiot—Tom Kitt—is already attached to the Jagged Little Pill musical. In other words, expect it to be a smashing success.
Production will begin in 2014, but questions abound: Will Alanis herself act in it, as Billie Joe Armstrong occasionally did? Will this give Dave Coulier his first acting gig in years? And with a Kurt Cobain musical reportedly under consideration, which '90s alt-rocker will Broadway turn its eye toward next? Keep your fingers crossed it's Right Said Fred!
