Azealia Banks Blames Pharrell for "ATM JAM" Bomb
Azealia Banks has dissed Pharrell on the Internet, because clearly her mama didn't teach her better than that. (That's an important Destiny's Child reference, by the way.)
Banks has made yet another regrettable decision by tweeting her feelings about the producer and insulting light-skinned black people at the same time. She has has a history of doing things like that.
Speaking about the pair's recent collaboration, "ATM JAM," Azealia said the song "did poorly" because, well, Pharrell.
In a tweet that has since been removed, Azealia said, "The reason ATM jam did poorly is because pharell [sic] changed his mind about wanting to be associated with me after he had his lite skin comeback." The track failed to chart and will be removed from her upcoming debut album, Broke With Expensive Taste.
The rest of the rant is still live:
"Lite skin n-ggas are funny. But f-ck it what's new? Azealia banks having to scrape claw and fight for what she wants. This is normal for me now. The minute I feel like I should give a f-ck and stop talking sh-t the good lord reminds me that no one else gives a f-ck and neither shuld [sic] I. If no one gives a f-ck? Why should I? Giving a f-ck, f-cks sh-t up for me."
Another reason the song might have done poorly: Azealia Banks says stuff like "Kanye West and I are the same person," "You have ugly children" (to Lily Allen) and frequently, the word "f-ggot." She also admitted that even she doesn't really like the song.
Broke With Expensive Taste was originally due out September 2012, but now it's slated for early 2014.
