Get to Know Tequan Richmond of 'House Party: Tonight's the Night'
Even if you don’t know the name Tequan Richmond, you’ve probably seen the 21-year-old on television and in the movies. The Los Angeles-via-North Carolina actor plays Chris in House Party: Tonight's the Night, starring Richmond as a college-bound rapper throwing a giant party to impress a record label exec and land his high school crush. The latest installment in the House Party franchise is set to premiere Friday, November 29 at 8/7c on Fuse, but it’s just the latest in the actor’s career that has stretched back more than a decade.
Richmond got his first big breakthrough playing alongside Jamie Foxx as Ray Charles’ son in Ray. A string of TV and film appearances would follow, leading to Richmond’s recurring role as Drew Rock on the popular UPN series Everybody Hates Chris created by Chris Rock.
Most recently, Richmond, who also raps under the name T-Rich, has been pulling double duty, appearing as T.J. Ashford in the soap opera General Hospital and in Blue Caprice, the critically acclaimed 2013 film about the Beltway sniper attacks.
House Party: Tonight's the Night, with special appearances by Kid 'n Play, isn’t the actor’s first foray with hip hop. Richmond appeared as a young Game in the rapper’s video for “Hate It Or Love It.” Check it out below and see you on the 29th!
