Find Tranquility With Mutual Benefit's "Let's Play/Statue of a Man"
It's hard to imagine a better soundtrack to a lazy weekend morning than "Let's Play/Statue of a Man" from itinerant songwriter Jordan Lee. Recording under the name Mutual Benefit, Lee, Brooklyn-based after stints in Ohio, Austin and Boston, formed his music from, as he puts it, "contributions by friends and others met along the way."
On the track above, Lee uses homemade percussion, found sound and lilting guitar to lull you into tranquility. This is the song that joins you on the hammock; that fleeting time when you can afford to close your eyes, suspend life for a few minutes and just enjoy the now.
