Busta Rhymes and Q-Tip blew up the Internet last month with "Thank You," their soulful, uptempo track featuring Kanye West and Lil Wayne. Now, the duo drops The Abstract and the Dragon, a 28-track collection of new tracks, remixes and classics that's a late contender for Mixtape of the Year.
The mixtape features appearances by Raekwon, Redman, Talib Kweli and Missy Elliott alongside tributes to deceased producer (and Crate Diggers subject) J Dilla and Chris Lighty, the music industry executive who died last year.
The two rappers are hardly resting on old material. Q-Tip recently announced that he'll be producing Kanye's upcoming album, while Busta Rhymes is set to release E.L.E. 2 (Extinction Level Event 2) next year.
