Robin Thicke & 'Anchorman' Ron Burgundy Cover "Ride Like the Wind"
Fewer collaborations have made more sense than this one: Robin Thicke teamed up with the Anchorman himself, Ron Burgundy (AKA Will Ferrell), for a cover of Christopher Cross' smooth rock classic "Ride Like the Wind," featured on the Anchorman 2 soundtrack. And yes, for those of you who are asking, there is a flute solo. A very impressive one.
Thicke takes the lead on the majority of the silky song, but Burgundy adds some quite necessary asides. Mainly, "Yeah, I sound good" and "Feel that draft up your skirt, ladies, that's me." Also, before his epic flute solo, "Let me hit you with this—three feet of polished nickel, valves any sweet breath."
There are reports Thicke and Ferrell will shoot a music video for the song, which will make all of America's wishes come true. But in case that doesn't happen, at least we can still get "Ride Like the Wind" (along with Cross' original version) on the Anchorman 2 soundtrack, dropping December 17. Anchorman 2 hits theaters the following day, December 18.
