UPDATE: Aaron Paul told Jimmy Kimmel about his hour-long "so weird" chat with Michael Jackson that resulted in the Breaking Bad star "doing shots of tequila" and discussing "issues with growing up" later that night. Watch it above.
Original 1/8 Story: Aaron Paul has led a surreal life. The son of a Baptist minister, his mother gave birth to him on the bathroom floor. He worked five part-time jobs at once in high school, did a creepy Juicy Fruit commercial and eventually scored the career-making role of Jesse Pinkman on Breaking Bad. But in an interview with Details, Paul revealed what has to be the most bizarre moment of his strange life: doing shots with Michael Jackson in a castle.
On the cusp of fame, Paul attended the 25th birthday party of Prince Azim of Brunei back in 2007 as a plus-one. Set in a magnificent castle outside of London—which Paul rode a hovercraft around—the affair was attended by a slew of celebrities.
And that's where the hustling actor met the King of Pop. "[Prince Azim] is sitting on the couch with Michael Jackson, and me and Michael Jackson end up having this hour-long heart-to-heart about family and upbringings," Paul told Details. "He just put his arm around my shoulder and said, 'You know, if you've had a rough childhood or not, it's all about forgiveness. Once you realize that, it's fine. Everything's fine.'"
The Breaking Bad actor took MJ's advice to heart... and then decided to get drunk. "I'm like, 'Michael, you are absolutely right.' And then I go, 'Do you want to do a shot?' And he goes, 'Sure!' And I was like, 'Okay, Michael, let's do this.'"
After that lovely moment, Paul walked away with the story of a lifetime. And Jackson—who was paid to attend the party by the celebrity-obsessed prince—walked away with $10 million.
