We've heard Chvrches cover everything from Whitney Houston to HAIM--now the Swedish electro-pop trio is revealing their love for R&B spark plug Janelle Monae with a cover of her 2010 hit, "Tightrope." The band actually had the guts to do it for the first time live in front of Janelle Monae herself at Billboard's recent Women in Music event.
"I spoke to Janelle on the phone the other day, she was very nice," frontwoman Lauren Mayberry said about the cover. "But I feel like I should have said, 'Don't hate it. And if you do hate it, pretend that you don't, because it would help my spirit."
