Kaskade: "Eight Years Ago, We Didn't Even Have a Category"

Ryan Raddon, better known as Kaskade, has been an active DJ for almost two decades now, but tonight's GRAMMY Awards brought new challenges for the Chicago-based EDM artist.

This was the first year Kaskade was nominated for two awards – Best Dance Recording for his single "Atmosphere," and Best Dance/Electronica Album for his hit album of the same name.

He caught up with Fuse's Jack Osbourne on the GRAMMYs red carpet to reminisce over EDM's stunning trajectory: "Eight or nine years ago, we didn't even have a category," he remembers. "I think we kicked and screamed and fought really hard to get a category and once we got it, a lot came along. People started recognizing [EDM] for what it is ... more people are taking note."

The producer also reveals his excitement at being nominated alongside Disclosure for Best Dance/Electronica Album, as the English duo's Settle was his favorite album of the past year.
