Calvin Harris, Jay Z, Will Smith and the author of Trainspotting walk into a bar... It does sound like one of your dad's favorite jokes, but it's true: This odd foursome is teaming up to bring a new EDM-based comedy to television. Oh, good!
According to Deadline, the DJ, the rapper, the rapper-turned-actor and Irvine Welsh are working on a comedy series project that has been set up at HBO for development. The show is "set in the world of electronic music."
Jay Z and Will Smith have already teamed up on the Annie remake expected to hit theaters later this year. And Calvin Harris knows a little something about collaborating: His record-breaking album 18 Months features Kelis, Rihanna, Ellie Goulding and Florence Welch, to name a few. He's also just about as rich as Jay and Will, so they should all get along swimmingly over bottles of Ace of Spades.
