Fall Out Boy Explain Why They're Rooting for the Denver Broncos

Chicago rockers Fall Out Boy are Bears fans most of the time, but they're rooting for the Denver Broncos at Super Bowl XLVIII

"We heard the Broncos were running out [on the field] to our song 'Phoenix,'" bassist Pete Wentz tells Fuse News' Matte Babel. "So this year I'm a Broncos fan."

Speaking of football stadiums, the pop-punk act is floored their 2013 single "My Songs Know What You Did In the Dark (Light Em Up)" has become a sports stadium anthem.

"We wanted to write anthems that could be in stadiums, but I think we were thinking about it more from [the perspective of] us performing them there," bassist Pete Wentz said about the hit single.

"I think that as musicians, any time you try to like, 'Oh, we'll write a song that'll be great when you're in a car,' it just doesn't work out. It's not an equation... When ['Light Em Up'] started picking up, and it started getting traction [during sporting events]... it's a big deal."

"I'm surprised [at the song's popularity in sports arenas], but I'm so excited about it," frontman Patrick Stump added. "There's nothing better than how [Queen's] 'We Will Rock You' sounds in a stadium. There's nothing better than that, for that purpose. So when you're lucky enough to have one of those songs, that's the coolest thing ever."
