Drake Drops May Release Date for Lil Wayne's 'Tha Carter V'
It's official. Lil' Wayne has put all future Paris Hilton collabos on hold—at least until May 5th, when his highly anticipated Tha Carter V is officially set to drop.
Weezy graciously let label mate, Drake, announce the big news last night at a Drizzy concert at the House of Blues in New Orleans.
What happened next is for the history books. Not really. Wayne just jumped on stage and performed wearing massive hipster glasses. Great look, though!
(Watch the events unfold below.)
Those of you out there well versed in Lil' Wayne's musical resume will know that it's been nearly three years (we'll leave the exact day and minute count to you) since Tha Carter IV.
So, it's kind of a big deal and all of that.
Also, there's the issue of that time that the "Lollipop" rapper announced that he would retire after the release of Tha Carter V to do "regular things."
Basically a life of copious facial tattoo normalcy may await our beloved Weezy in a matter of months.
But until then, we've got May 5th to look forward to—and March 11th for the musical dream team New Young Money group compilation Rise of an Empire.
Nice.
