Listen: Miguel's Sultry "Simplethings" for HBO's 'Girls'
It's not too shabby being Lena Dunham: You get to hang out with Billy Eichner and terrorize city folk on Billy on the Street, and when you want a song done by Miguel for the second installment of the soundtrack to your crazy-popular HBO show, Girls, you just call and ask.
"We reached out to [Miguel]," Girls music supervisor Manish Raval said about the song. "We are a huge fan of his and very early on in the process Lena said, 'Can we just call him and see if he'll do something?' We did, he said yes. It was very easy."
The result is a slow and sultry track titled "Simplethings," which is very much in line with the sex jams found on his smash second album, Kaleidoscope Dream. "Adorn," the debut single off of Dream, won Miguel the 2013 GRAMMY for Best R&B Song.
Girls’ second soundtrack, Volume 2: All Adventurous Women Do…, drops February 11.
