Wilco's Jeff Tweedy Takes on 'Parks and Recreation'
Move over Mouse Rat, there's a new band in town…
Fans of NBCs critically acclaimed comedic masterpiece Parks and Recreation will be tickled to know that another musical act, in addition to Chris Pratt's goofball character Andy's metal band, is hitting Pawnee.
And the band's frontman? None other than alt country hero and WIlco frontman, Jeff Tweedy.
According to Entertainment Weekly, the "Heavy Metal Drummer" singer will be making his way to everyone's favorite fictional town in Middle America this Spring as the lead singer of Land Ho!
Michael Schur, the show's executive producer, revealed to EW that the plot for the Tweedy-starring episodes revolves around Leslie (Amy Poehler) and Andy (Chris Pratt) “trying to convince him to reunite for the big Unity Concert they are organizing to solidify the merger of Pawnee and Eagleton.”
Doing so will be an uphill battle (of course!) as the band members ended on less than good terms.
That's reveal enough for us; we're pretty sure unmitigated hilarity will ensue.
But Parks and Rec isn't your only chance to catch the twangy-crooner test his comedic chops on primetime. Tweedy is also set to guest on the fourth season of IFC's Portlandia.
In closing, it's a good year to be a Tweedy fan. Aaand...we'll leave you with this adorbs video of Jeff jamming with his son.
