A decade has passed since Zach Braff made his directorial debut with Garden State, the indie flick well-known for its influential soundtrack featuring Coldplay, Colin Hay, Simon & Garfunkel and, obviously, The Shins.
Fans of the film will be happy to hear that Braff's followup, Wish I Was Here, has an equally cool tracklist. The director told Entertainment Weekly that Chris Martin wrote a song performed by Cat Power for the movie, but it wasn't featured in the version that premiered at Sundance "It wasn't ready yet," Braff said. "It’s the title song of the movie. It’s one of the most amazing songs ever."
The film will also feature (probably sad) jams from Bon Iver and a new one from the Shins, who were the masterminds behind "the song that will change your life."
Let's hope the Chris Martin/Cat Power pairing has the same effect.
Wish I Was Here hits theaters nationwide in July.
