Future Drops "Good Morning," His Dead Ringer for "Drunk In Love"
Last week Future surprised his SXSW audience by performing "Good Morning," an outtake from his upcoming sophomore LP Honest. The track sounded shockingly similar to Beyonce's monster hit "Drunk in Love." And when we say "similar," we mean "almost identical."
He introduced the song with this: "I was recording with this producer by the name of Detail, we was working on the ‘Drunk in Love.’ And we started working on this other record at the same time, and then once ‘Drunk in Love’ came out, it pushed this song to the side, but at the same time it’s one of my favorite songs that didn’t make the album.”
The conspiracy theories are in full effect: Did Future ghostwrite "Drunk in Love" for Beyonce? Is this just coincidence, two brilliant musicians happening upon the same sound at the same time? Is Future some sort of wizard, predicting the tune before Bey and crew wrote their love anthem?
BuzzFeed reports that Future's rep said the rapper was not involved in the writing of "Drunk in Love," and that "Good Morning" was recorded before Beyonce's massive hit. Which, let's be Honest, sounds like a contradiction.
Hot 107.9′s Durtty Boyz released a studio version of the song. Listen to it below and see if you think they sound similar.
