New baby, new Broadway project, new music: Christina Aguilera is keeping busy in 2014, and it looks like her forthcoming record is finally underway.
Over the weekend, Aguilera took to Twitter to gush about the exciting spring ahead of her, which seems to be all about spending time in the studio and prepping for the arrival of her daughter with fiancé Matt Rutler.
Currently on hiatus from The Voice, Aguilera has been hard at work on the follow-up to 2012's Lotus, though she's kept herself busy in that spinny red chair and performing huge duets (A Great Big World's tear-jerking "Say Something;" Pitbull's "Feel This Moment") in between albums.
She's dipping her toes back in the waters of musical theater as well: Aguilera put her triple-threat skills to the test back in 2010 with the poorly-received Burlesque, and now she's confirmed to appear in Broadway 4D, the megawatt musical production that pairs big names with the biggest showstoppers to hit the Broadway stage.
Hugh Jackman's reprised his role as Curly from Oklahoma! to record "Oh! What a Beautiful Morning" for the film earlier this year. "Don't Cry For Me Argentina" is reportedly Aguilera's contribution to the project as Evita's Eva Perón, and she was spotted filming her scenes in New York last week.
Between the Broadway build-up, a hotly anticipated record and a new baby on the way, it seems like everything's coming up roses for Xtina and family this spring, and we couldn't be happier for her! Congrats all around, and a break or leg or two in there, too.
