As metal singer Tim Lambesis awaits sentencing for his murder-for-hire attempt on his estranged wife, the other members of As I Lay Dying are attempting to breathe new life into the band.

As MetalSucks points out, the remaining members of the San Diego-based Christian metal band have posted Instagram videos of As I Lay Dying in the studio. Not shockingly, a new vocalist—whose identity is a mystery so far—is performing with them. It's anyone's guess if the new singer is someone in the band stepping up to the mic or an entirely new member.

The band has been in musical purgatory since Lambesis was arrested last year for allegedly hiring a hitman to murder his wife for taking too much of his money. Initially he pleaded not guilty to the charges, then blamed "roid rage," and eventually changed his tune to a "guilty" plea. He now faces up to nine years in prison.

As I Lay Dying's last album was 2012's Awakened, which reached No. 11 on the Billboard 200.
