The Blood Brothers to Reunite At Los Angeles & Austin Music Festivals
UPDATE: The Blood Brothers have announced that they will also play Austin's Fun Fun Fun Festival in October of this year. Check out the rest of the lineup on the fest's official website.
Original Story: Love Rhymes With... Reunion? While most bands announce their revival with a public statement, Seattle's the Blood Brothers let a festival flyer do it for them. On Sunday, August 24, Johnny Whitney and crew will play live for the first time in seven years at Los Angeles' FYF Festival.
For those unfamiliar: The Blood Brothers formed in 1997 and disbanded a decade later. In that time they released five full-length albums, the most memorable being 2006's Young Machetes. They were known for dramatic fluctuations in both vocals and instrumentation, transitioning from Whitney's falsetto to high-pitched screaming and the use of nonstandard meter.
For example, check out "Set Fire to the Face on Fire" below. Fingers crossed for additional reunion dates!
