Courtney Love Wrote Note Found in Kurt Cobain's Wallet at Scene of Death
Earlier this year the Seattle Police Department released a series of photos from Kurt Cobain's death scene, the most shocking of which was a handwritten note found in the later singer's wallet.
It read, "Do you Kurt Cobain take Courtney Michelle Love to be your lawful shredded wife even when she's a bitch with zits and siphoning all yr money for doping and whoring..." That note was almost a parody of his previously-released suicide note, where Cobain described Love as "a goddess of a wife who sweats ambition and empathy."
After a week or so of speculation (was Kurt kidding? Did he secretly hate her?), Love confirmed she wrote the self-eviscerating wallet note.
"Obviously I wrote it–don't you guys understand sarcasm?" she told the Guardian. The wallet note controversy has already sparked new conspiracy theories, which the musician also addressed: "It endangers me, and it endangers [Love's press-shy daughter] Frances."
Speaking of squashed controversies, Love and Dave Grohl recently (finally) made up after 20 years of feuding when Nirvana was inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame.
