UPDATE (8/20): After pleading guilty to gun charges in May, Gucci Mane has been sentenced to three years and three months in jail. Associated Press reports the judge also sentenced the rapper to "three years of supervised release with extra limitations on his travel during that time and to pay a $5,000 fine."
Original Story (5/13): Rapper Gucci Mane has pleaded guilty to gun charges. The Associated Press reports that Radric Davis has violated conditions in which convicted felons can possess firearms. He faces up to 10 years in jail and a maximum fine of $250,000.
Prosecutors recommended that he server 3 years and 3 months. His sentencing is scheduled for July 28.
The arrest stemmed from a bizarre incident that happened last September, where he was found with a gun on two separate incidents within a 48-hour period. On September 14, a friend of Mane called the police and described a scene where he was walking down the street, "behaving violently." Police found him with marijuana and a loaded Glock. In December, he was ordered to surrender his firearms.
Around that same time, he went on a weird Twitter rant about sleeping with Nicki Minaj and crappy label execs.
This setback is the latest in a long list of troubled times for the fading hip hop star. Last spring, he was arrested for assault, which he later pleaded not guilty to.
