Although Arcade Fire's latest video is intended as a sympathetic exploration of gender identity struggles, Against Me!'s Laura Jane Grace is not a fan of the "We Exist" video. The punk singer—who came out as a trans woman in 2012—took to Twitter today to voice her displeasure with the band for not casting an actual trans person in the clip:
Dear @arcadefire , maybe when making a video for a song called "We Exist" you should get an actual "Trans" actor instead of Spider-Man?

She's of course referring to the band's choice in casting Spider-Man star Andrew Garfield as the lead. In the video, he wanders into dive bars and takes a beating, only to find himself on stage with the band at their recent Coachella gig.
Arcade Fire haven't responded yet, but here's the video for your viewing pleasure.
