Warpaint on Beyoncé Diss: "We're Not Starting a War, We Would Be Crushed"

Indie rock band Warpaint made headlines yesterday when an excerpt from their upcoming interview in Q Magazine made rounds. In it, guitarist Theresa Wayman is quoted as saying, "[Rihanna] has an insane voice, she could’ve done something so much more subtle and artful. It just gets worse. Every song on Beyoncé’s last album has her basically looking like a slut and she does not need to do that. She’s gorgeous and so f**king talented. And they all take it as women’s liberation!”

The internet immediately went up in arms about the ordeal, forcing the band to respond. Less than 24 hours after the Bey diss hit, Wayman apologized on the band's Facebook page, explaining that the quotes were taken out of context and that they "LOVE and ADORE Beyonce and Rihanna, genuinely."

She wrote, "We're not trying to start a war, no f**king way. We would be crushed like little lady flies... I'm not trying to cover my tracks but this is really upsetting to me. I apologize for being careless with my words. I apologize to fans of Beyonce and Rihanna, I f**king love them too. Me and and my big mouth."

Wayman added, "p.s. I never said s**t about twerking…don't know how that got in there. By all means, twerk away."

Alright then!
