UPDATE: Rolling Stone confirms that Cher contributed vocals to two songs on the new Wu-Tang album, singing the lines, "Wu-Tang, baby / They rock the world" in the preview above. A rep told the publication, "She recorded her parts separately, so I don't believe there was direct interaction."
Original Story: Last month Wu-Tang Clan revealed they've crafted a one-of-a-kind album—Once Upon a Time in Shaolin—that's housed in an engraved box made at the foot of the Moroccan Atlas Mountains. Let's let that one sit for a moment.
Fans started a Kickstarter to purchase the record, but billionaires bidding on the record have already put in offers up to a whopping $5 million. It'll take time before us normal (not rich) folk get to hear the record, but Forbes did manage to send a writer to Marrakesh to hear a snippet of the album.
Thankfully, they filmed it and let producer Tarik "Cilvaringz" Azzougarh preview 51-seconds of an unnamed track, which you can watch above.
Is the verse good? Of course! Is it worth $5 million? Ummm....
Either way, there's another tantalizing tease about this album. In the video above, the Forbes writer says the female voice at the end of this clip sounds like Cher. Yes, that Cher. Is he just goofing around, or does he know something we don't?
And if it is Cher, will anyone other than the billionaire who buys Once Upon a Time in Shaolin ever hear this song more than once?
