Warped Tour is just around the corner and Yellowcard are gearing up for what we're sure will be a summer to remember. Diehard fans of the fest know that the Florida punks have gone through a couple lineup changes, most recently parting ways with longtime drummer Longineu Parsons. Wondering what he's been up to? We've got answers!
After leaving Yellowcard in March of 2014 and partnering up with original member Ben Harper, Parsons and crew have formed a new pop-punk band called This Legend. The band also includes Stanley and the Search's Chris Castillo and Steven Neufeld from HeyMike!
“After being in Yellowcard for 18 years, this will definitely be a new experience for me," Parsons said in a statement to Fuse. "The last 18 years with Yellowcard has played a big role in who I am today. I am excited to begin this new adventure with my best friend Ben Harper and re-unite in a new musical endeavor together.
"I’m stoked to embark on this journey with one of my inspirations, El Hefe of NOFX, and I feel This Legend is a perfect fit for the Cyber Tracks family. Jen and Hefe have been very supportive throughout my new transition and I feel we’ve created a solid team. I can’t wait to start writing again. Thank you to my fans for sticking by my side throughout all of this. See you on the road very soon!”
Signing to Cyber Tracks was totally natural, according to El Hefe. "I used to chill with LP and Ben back in my Warped Tour days. Their level of musicianship has impressed me over the years, so it's no doubt this will be a great album," says Hefe. His wife and business partner Jen added, "I'm confident of what's to come from this new collaboration. It's a fresh approach and I feel that we've created the perfect team in a family environment. Chris is a phenomenal songwriter, and from the demos I've heard so far, I anticipate this to be a killer record."
We do, too!
