Kendrick Lamar Confirms Dr. Dre on 'Good Kid' Follow-Up
Not much is known about Kendrick Lamar's awaited follow-up to 2012 breakout good kid, m.A.A.d city, but one thing's for certain: Dr. Dre is back.
As Rap-Up points out, Lamar chatted with Seattle's KUBE 93 at their recent Summerfest concert and revealed some interesting details. “Dr. Dre is focused like he always been,” he said. “He focused on music, man."
Dr. Dre recently became an Apple employee with the sale of Beats By Dre to the computer/content giant. But that's not deterring him from his one true love: overseeing hip-hop artists make albums. “One thing about Dre, you can’t take the music away. No matter how much money he has, he’s always gonna be right there in that studio,” Lamar said. “That’s before the deal, after the deal. He’s always locked in there. That’s something that I know personally.”
According to an article in Billboard earlier this year, the album is due out this fall. Check out the full interview from KUBE below.
