World Cup madness gone awry? One Direction's eldest member, Louis Tomlinson, has purchased an English soccer team. The boy band heartthrob is now co-owner of the Doncaster Rovers, his hometown's team. We're hoping for a futball anthem on the new album!

The 22-year-old singer released a statement saying, "Although I’m young, I am very ambitious and I really want this club to succeed."

Tomlinson and Doncaster have launched a crowdfunding campaign asking fans to join him in reaching the team's funding goal of £2 million, or $3.4 million. (So, yeah, a millionaire wants your money.) Watch a promotional video below.
