Bat for Lashes Sings an Ode to Her Epidermis in "Skin Song"

Skin is pretty cool: it keeps all our organs, guts and blood in place and it can turn a really nice shade with some sunshine.  Bat For Lashes (aka Natasha Khan) shows her love for her epidermis in her ethereal new track, "Skin Song."

Listen to the Pitchfork-premiered track above. Ominous, tribal drums mixed with woozy synths back Khan's poetic reflections on her body and skin's experiences from "holding babes" to its "cool and paper-thin" look.

"Skin Song" is a contribution off the forthcoming project LP Body of Songs, out next year. According to P4K, the album will feature a slew of acts "exploring how medical science can inspire music" with each song about human anatomy. Check out a trailer for the awesomely nerdy project below.
