UPDATE: Watch the just-premiered video for "BO$$" right here to see the girls play arm-wrestling runway models. Boss, indeed.
Fifth Harmony proved they were all about girl power in their anthemic debut single "Miss Moving On," but if you missed the message, they're back with a new joint and collectively declaring themselves "BO$$." Bosses on their "Michelle Obama sh-t," that is.
The X Factor alums namedrop some of the world's brightest stars, giving nods to Oprah ("Purse so heavy, getting Oprah dollars"), Kanye West and Ray J ("You're talking to a lady / I want a Kanye, not a Ray J") and the First Lady herself is even incorporated to the song's repetitive, but oh-so-catchy chorus.
And for your healthy dose of sass this Monday morning, the girls spew a slew of self-assured lines ("Working for my money / 'Cause that's what my momma taught me" and "C-O-N-F-I-D-E-N-T / That's me, I'm confident") over the snappy, horn-driven beat. It's a bit reminiscent to what Destiny's Child was doing on early singles like "Bills, Bills, Bills" and "Independent Women Part 1," which sounds like a good template to us.
"BO$$" leads off Fifth Harmony's upcoming full-length album, following last year's Better Together EP. And if you're suddenly feeling nostalgic for kickass girl groups, take a stroll through 35 rockin' girls bands throughout history.
