Girls' Generation Headline KCON 2014: 6 Must-See Videos Before the Concert

The girl group plays America's biggest K-pop festival this weekend. Here's what we're hoping to see live!

SMTOWN on Youtube

This weekend marks the third annual KCON, America's largest K-pop festival. When it was created in 2012, the Los Angeles convention was a single-day hurrah of all things Korean pop culture with panels, workshops, artist meet-and-greets and a huge concert with multiple K-pop acts to end the day. Today, KCON has grown to two days of festivities with concerts each night. This year, the fest promises longer sets from each artist, which means more time needed to obsess over what songs we might potentially hear live. So. Many. Options. (!!!)

Girls' Generation are headlining the second day of concerts, and to adequately prepare you for the girl group's sure-to-be-explosive setlist, we've compiled a list of six videos you'll need to see ahead of KCON. Get the songs stuck in your head, make you sure have the choreography down pat and end your festival on a K-pop high.

"I Got a Boy"

"I Got a Boy" was a massive success around the world, even winning Video of the Year at the very first YouTube Music Awards. Girls' Generation haven't performed in America since dropping the track in early 2013, so this is another one they'll definitely want to bring to the live stage for fans.

Get into the genre-defying jam above that just broke 100 million views on YouTube. The feat made GG the only K-pop group to have multiple vids break the 100 millie mark. Yeah, it's that good.

It's the girls' most recent music video and yet another dazzling visual jewel to add to their collection. Playing dreamy nurses, there literally isn't a moment here where the girls don't look drop-dead gorgeous, solidifying them as probably the best looking girl group ever. Are you sure you're ready to see them up-close and in person?

The girls will definitely perform their newest single at KCON, so make sure you have that dance break (at 2:40) down pat before this weekend.

To many, "Gee" is Girls' Generation's signature track. The sugary-sweet pop single gave them their first chart-topper and was the first video by a K-pop group to surpass 100 million views on YouTube. The 2009 release brought the group's totally in-sync, totally adorable choreography to the world's attention, and we all started falling deeply in love with the group.

They'll likely play this one for the longtime fans still with them five years after its release. Plus, it's just too fun not to perform!

"Genie" is a gem in GG's discography. This slick piece of electro-pop followed up "Gee" in 2009 and gave the girls another massive hit. It's a longtime favorite from K-pop fans with its leggy choreography standing out as one of the most memorable dance moves from that year.

Its legacy lives on today with newer K-pop groups covering it to show admiration for the all-mighty Girls' Generation.

"The Boys"

"The Boys" was billed as Girls' Generation's first international single with the group recording it in Korean, Japanese and even an English version. It's more than likely that they'll perform the English rendition while in America.

"Run Devil Run"

Our last pick for GG's setlist goes to their bumpin' 2010 single "Run Devil Run." If you can believe it, the club banger was actually originally recorded by Kesha for her debut album, but Girls' Generation snatched it up.

We think they'll opt for this one since Americans love Kesha, KCON attendees love Girls' Generation ... undoubtedly, it's a major win.
