10 Oddest Musical Partnerships

#1Jay Z & Linkin Park

Jay Z and Linkin Park teamed up for their Collision Course EP in 2004, a mashup album released way before mashup albums littered the Internet. Brought together by the MTV show Mash Ups, the team-up began when Hov was asked what artist he wanted to work with, and he chose the "In the End" band. But instead of letting a DJ combine their hits, Jay and Linkin frontman Mike Shinoda worked together to rework, and sometimes re-record, certain parts of songs to make for better, more cohesive tracks.

The result was the second-ever EP to top the Billboard 200 chart and a Top 20 hit single, "Numb/Encore."
