One Direction's "Steal My Girl" Channels Epic '80s Power Ballads

UPDATE (9/29): "Steal My Girl" is officially here, and the latest One Direction single channels some serious '80s power ballad vibes! Louis and Liam both contributed to the track, and its epic sentiments fit right in with the super romantic lyrics of their discography already. Give "Steal My Girl" a listen above.

Original Story: One Direction are gearing up for their new album FOUR—here's everything you need to know about it, by the way—out this November. While they teased a breezy, sonic shift with the harmony-heavy buzz track "Fireproof," the 1D guys are showing they haven't abandoned their arena-ready sound on the album's official lead single "Steal My Girl."

Sharing a 19-second snippet, One Direction belt an anthemic chorus, "Everybody wanna steal my girl / Everybody wanna take her heart away / Couple million in the whole wide world / Find another one 'cause she belongs to me." Yup, fan girls are going to absolutely melt over this and it should fit in nicely among other 1D lead singles like "What Makes You Beautiful" and "Live While We're Young."

While the snippet focuses mostly on the choruses, there does seem to be some epic synths in play, perhaps indicating a synth-rock spectacular from the boys. We can't wait!

"Steal My Girl" drops in full on September 29. Check back to Fuse for the full single soon, read our complete guide to One Direction's FOUR album right here and continue swooning over "Fireproof" below in the meantime.
