In the last few months, Justin Bieber's done a pretty good job of staying out of (major) trouble which hopefully means dude's been working hard in the studio. And while it's not an entirely new Bieber track yet, Beliebers have been blessed with a new remix with the star taking on the No. 1 song in the country right now—Meghan Trainor's unstoppable "All About That Bass," of course.
Over a synthy hip hop beat courtesy of producer/"Lolly" rapper Maejor Ali, Bieber uses Meghan's empowering lyrics as a battle call. He declares, "I'm all about that bass, no treble / We gonna take it to a whole 'nother level / We know that sh*t ain't real, we know that sh*t ain't real! / We know that shi*t ain't real, we know it's Photoshopped," which may be a deep metaphor for not believing everything the tabloids publish or photograph. Or, hey, maybe it's just a fun lyric. We're down with either option.
Maejor Ali released his own version of the "All About That Bass" remix earlier this year and it found fans in both Bieber and Trainor. "I first put this song out as a production remix on my own," Ali told Billboard, who premiered the mix. "Not soon after it went out, Meghan heard it, then Justin heard it and shortly after they asked me to pull my version down so that the collaboration could happen. And that's the dopest part...I'm excited to bring a hood yet house twist to such a catchy song."
Can we get a rap from Meghan on the next remix?
