UPDATE (1/13): Our first introduction to the new All Time Low came mostly as a surprise. The guys shared their latest single "Something's Gotta Give" on BBC Radio One with little warning yesterday morning. Today the long time pop-punkers shared a music video for the sentimental song, one that totally embodies their strange and silly personalities.
In the clip, frontman Alex Gaskarth is seen rocking a french fry costume. He chases a model, the rest of his bandmates, a cat... and none of them seem to accept his advances. After stopping to catch his breath, he sees he's transformed into a monster, a zombie. The rest of his band also find themselves to be undead. Gaskarth continues to chase folk, killing and eating them. It doesn't end well for him. Press play if you dare!
Original Story: It's been two years since we last heard from All Time Low with the release of Don't Panic, the band's move from a major label (Interscope) back to their pop-punk roots (Hopeless). The transition was one the guys' told Fuse was in their best interest, and by the sound of their latest single, they're not wrong.
The boys shared "Something's Gotta Give" Monday morning on BBC Radio One. It's our first taste of the band's upcoming sixth studio album, Future Hearts, out March 2015. The tune begins with classic All Time Low self-deprecating lyricism: "I woke up in a stranger's bed / With pins and needles in my head / And the clock ticking off the wall / I don't even know myself / I wish I could be someone else / But I don't have a clue at all."
When vocalist Alex Gaskarth reaches the chorus, he's especially critical. "Wake up / Say enough is enough / I'm dying to live." It might be a bummer sentiment, but the track recalls Yellowcard's cinematic songwriting, bridges with gang-vocals, technical guitar breakdowns—huge rock and roll stuff!
Listen to "Something's Gotta Give" above and stay tuned to Fuse for the latest All Time Low news.
