Blink-182 is in a tremulous time. Tom DeLonge is no longer part of the group he started, after a ton of back and forth including a slew of mean comments from everyone in the band. The temporary solution sees Blink moving on without DeLonge, with the group's rhythm section practicing for an upcoming gig with Alkaline Trio's Matt Skiba.
Thankfully, DeLonge isn't quitting music all together and the singer has shared a new single, his first solo effort, "New World."
The song has the arena rock power of early Angels & Airwaves, without the atmospheric qualities: The guitars are turned all the way up, like the early-aughts side-project Box Car Racer. It's one of the better tunes we've heard from DeLonge in the last decade.
Tom's debut solo album, To the Stars..., drops April 21.
