Chris Brown Added an Unnecessary Part to Beyoncé's "Jealous"

"Jealous" was one of the best songs on Beyoncé's self-titled 2013 album of uniformly masterful songs. It explored commitment, the stuff men get away with vs. the stuff women get away with, and, yes, jealousy. It also had an emotional and memorable video.

Now Chris Brown shows up, 16 months later, to add a part we don't know if we'll ever need to hear again (but we're glad we listened to a couple times at least for research purposes). Nobody seems to know if this was the original version, an official remix, or a solo move by Breezy, who jumps in saying:

Queen Bey, I'm trippin
'Cause I’m a little insecure when your phone go off
Cuz they be callin at three in the mornin
Know I do the same shit but girl, it's different

So off the bat he's got a gross double standard and a fantasy of himself as someone who gets to monitor the one and only Yoncé's texts. Then he insinuates that he's the only man a woman should ever need. Dubious at best, delusional at worst.

There's one sonically interesting part, on the chorus at 1:40, where Brown throws some fluttery vocal runs on top of Bey's (as we already said, perfect) vox. Okay. We said a nice thing.
