Original Story (5/12): Last month we gave you an inside look at Guitar Hero Live from the star-studded launch partyFall Out Boy's Pete Wentz and My Chemical Romance's Gerard Way were endlessly entertaining. Today Activision has shared the first 24 songs for the game's first edition in five years, and we've got some surprises. (Rolling Stone reports that new tracks will be revealed on a weekly basis, eventually building to hundreds of playable tunes.)

The game is sticking to its rock 'n' roll roots but adding new flavors with songs like Skrillex's “Bangarang," emo fave Pierce the Veil's “King for a Day (feat. Kellin Quinn of Sleeping With Sirens)” and nu-metal classic "Chop Suey!" by System of a Down. Interestingly and kind of head-scratchingly, some of these cuts have appeared on earlier versions of Guitar Hero.
