Amnesia Rockfest 2015 is here! Canada's largest rock music event is back for another summer in scenic Montebello (for you yanks, it's close to Ottawa/Montreal in Quebec). We here at Fuse are making our first journey to the grounds and couldn't be more excited!
Before you get ready to go, you'll need to figure out how to get there (duh), where you're gonna stay and what to bring. That kind of stuff is our bread and butter. Read on, and get as prepared as you are stoked.
The official Amnesia Rockfest site has you covered, but allow us to be your one-stop shop:
111, Laurier Street, Montebello, QC, J0V 1L0 is the address, folks. Some roads will be closed during the event, so mind the signs.
From Gatineau, Hull, Aylmer, Buckingham:
A shuttle service will be offered by Voyage Labelle Vie. Click here for deets.
Spectrasonic will once again be doing Ottawa buses. Click here.
From Montreal, Toronto, Quebec City, Laval, Sherbrooke, Segueney, Trois-Rivieres, Terrebonne, St-Jean-Sur-Richelieu, Rouyn, Ste-Therese, St-Jerome, Drummondville:
Sharethebus.com will be offering buses from several cities. Click here.
Anything goes in Montebello. The port is along the Outaouais River. You can dock wherever. Punk!
Well, VIP usually sells out (scratch that, is sold out). Camping for normies is still an option, click here and watch the instructional video below:
WHAT TO BRING
Backpack: You might get free stuff, you might buy stuff. You'll also need a way to carry the other items on this list. Bring a backpack!
Watch: Your phone will die and you won't know what time System of a Down is playing, or what time it is...unless you're a trained Boy Scout and know some weird trick. A watch is a must.
Water: It's a long day and you'll need to stay hydrated.
Money: To buy stuff with! There will be ATMs on site, but not everywhere.
External Battery: Again, your phone will die.
Towels: You're most likely going to be camping, and you'll want to stay dry and clean. If you're make-shifting a shower (you know, getting clean with a bucket or whatever) you'll need to towel off (duh). If you're especially crafty, you'll bring a small hand towel with you to the fest to stay looking your best.
Extra socks: Similar to the towel thing, but in case of rain.
Umbrella or Poncho: R-A-I-N
Hat: Seriously, it's sunny. You're in the woods. Protect your noggin.
Sunscreen: And your skin. Bring it with you because you'll need to reapply throughout the day depending on the weather and SPF. You know how this stuff works.
Hand sanitizer: Because Porta-Potties.
Earplugs: If you'd like to protect your hearing, as in, you'd like to enjoy live music well into old age, you'll need to bring a set of these bad boys.
