5 Seconds of Summer Serve My Chemical Romance Vibes on "She's Kinda Hot"

UPDATE (7/17): After an excruciating wait, 5 Seconds of Summer's new single is here!

The first offering from the Aussie quartet's sophomore album, "She's Kinda Hot" is pop-punky anthem co-written with Benji and Joel Madden, along with John Feldmann. We're picking up major My Chemical Romance vibes, specifically to The Black Parade era with "She's Kinda Hot" recalling a modern-sounding take of MCR's 2007 single "Teenagers."

If the first single is any indication, 5SOS is moving into punkier and edgier territory...and we're totally here for it. Read on for everything that happened leading up to the single and then check out what we know about the upcoming LP right here.

Update (7/13): Alright, 5SOSfam, we've got an update for ya. It appears the next 5SOS tune, which may or may not drop this week, has a name. According to a handful of update accounts and other such folk dedicated to all things 5 Seconds of Summer, the song is called "She's Kinda Hot," and the guys shot a video for it last night in Los Angeles. Give it to us already, boys?

Original Story (7/9): It feels like its been a million years since the last 5 Seconds of Summer single, and something's gotta give. We know the boys have been playing a new tune, "Permanent Vacation" on current their Rock Out with Your Socks Out world tour, but it has yet to be officially released. Now the Aussie guys are dropping hints that something big is on it's way...

They've brought back 5onthewall.com (#5ONTHEWALL), a grainy, security camera-like insight into their dressing room. Last time they posted it, we were gifted a Japan tour diary. When that went live, there was no sound in the clip. This time around we hear defacto frontman Luke Hemmings' belting out a very R&B rendition "What I Like About You" and "Disconnected." Previews of coming attractions, anyone?

Hemmings then jumps into Ed Sheeran's "Lego House" and Goldfinger's "Counting the Days." The clip concludes with bassist Calum Hood joining the singer to play some FIFA.

Beyond that, iHeartRadio tweeted that something big from the band is coming in eight days, then mysteriously deleted it. Did they spill the beans? Is a new song on the way? Stay tuned!
