Update (7/29): Watch a 67-minute video of Angie Martinez's Power 105.1 FM conversation with Birdman above. Apparently he and Lil Wayne continue to use adjacent studios but never talk. He also denies the stories that he threw bottles at Weezy during a recent performance.
Original story (7/28): Power 105.1's Angie Martinez recently scored 48 hours with Cash Money Records co-CEO Bryan "Birdman" Williams; it's being called Baby's "only tell-all interview" about the strife that's been bubbling between himself and Lil Wayne since December. (The $51 million lawsuit–level strife, the strife that pushed Tunechi to release a mixtape-sized "eff you" to the label he's called home since his early teens.)
The full interview will premiere this afternoon (Tuesday, July 28), and the teaser video (watch it below) guarantees juiciness. Here's Birdman's response to Weezy's vehement attacks on Cash Money, which have included allegations that the label had been holding Tha Carter V from release for more than a year now:
"That was shocking to everybody. Never thought [Wayne] would be saying nothing negative about me ever. In no lifetime. I never thought that could ever happen, you understand me? For that man to open his mouth and say something negative about me, you understand me, that was a lot. Shit fucked my day up. I love my son. That mean the world to me, he mean the world to me. For that man to say something negative about me, that affected my life."
"What happens if, let's say, the end of the day, Wayne wants to live his life, he doesn't wanna be on Cash Money anymore?" Martinez also asked. "And...what happens to Nicki and Drake and all the Young Money artists? Do they...do you lose everything?"
"Nicki and Drake ain't goin' nowhere, regardless," Birdman flatly answered.
Stay tuned for the full interview, guaranteed to start an inferno.
