During a Wednesday morning visit to the New York Times on some early promotion for The Hunger Games: Mockingjay – Part 2, Jennifer Lawrence let a Gale-sized bomb drop. America's sweetheart and Amy Schumer, also now America's sweetheart, are writing a movie together, one that they're looking to costar in.
“We play sisters,” J-Law tells the paper. “We’re almost done writing. It just flowed out of us. We’ve got about 100 pages right now.” Lawrence has neither screenwriting nor production credits yet, so this is doubly fantastic.
If it was all you could handle just to see that Amy and Jenny went on an oceanic, Jet Ski-related vacation together in July, you are at this time likely deceased or seriously ill with excitement.
Here's more, if you've returned from the grave:
"Amy and I were creatively made for each other. We have different flavors. It’s been the most fun experience of my life. We start the day off on the phone, laughing. And then we send each other pages. And we crack up. I’m flying out tomorrow to see her in Chicago. We’ll write a little bit with her sister, Kim, who worked with Amy when she was writing Trainwreck.”
This whole thing started when Lawrence emailed Schumer saying, "I don’t know where to get started. I guess I should just say it: I’m in love with you." All thanks to Trainwreck, the Judd Apatow-directed film starring and written by star of Comedy Central's even-better-than-Trainwreck series Inside Amy Schumer.
After revealing this #hotscoop to the NYT, J-Law texted A-Schum just to let her know she "spilled the beans." Amy's reply? "That you’re gay? Totally! It’s exciting!”
